Kit's Coty Chardonnay 2023

The minerality on the finish is what got me—you can really taste those North Downs chalk soils. Savoured it with a simple roast chicken and it cut through beautifully; this is easily up there with the best still wines I've had from England.

Opened this on a rainy Tuesday and the nose alone pulled me straight back to that Kent chalky soil. It’s got that tight, citrusy spine with a long, quiet finish that makes you slow down and actually think about what you’re sipping. Honestly, for the price it drinks like something twice as fancy.

The minerality from those North Downs grapes really comes through—it’s crisp but has this lovely weight to it. Opened it for a quiet dinner and ended up finishing the bottle myself, it’s that moreish.
